This was a Training evening we set up for all our ‘helpers’ mostly all under 16 yr olds. We go through their duties and share experiences, they have an opportunity to ask questions, we do group work dry side and in the pool.
Lucy, one of our Lead Teachers, working with the helpers, only in this scenario the helpers are all beginners (in the circle), aged 3 – 5! In the pool is Charlotte, working with helpers who are all pretending to be improver swimmers.
In this way the helpers can understand the impact of language and communication – as well as understand how the teachers want them to teach.
